Project to gather and share information about the French- Canadian group that settled northwest of Bourbonnais, in the western part of the township and in the southern part of Rockville. The settlement was located 2 ½ miles NorthWest of Bourbonnais Grove, Kankakee County Illinois between 1832 and 1865.

The Charles P. Skinner house was purchased by the society in 1988. A showcase attached to the house displays an antique buggy. A memorial park with a sundial and a one-room school house are included in the museum grounds.

Momence Historical Museum

The Momence Historical House recreates the period of history from 1870 to 1900. Most of the furnishings and accessories have been donated or loaned by Momence residents.

The 178-acre recreation area offers four miles of paved paths, oak meadows, a fruit tree orchard, picnic areas, and a gazebo. An Illinois nature preserve area highlights Indian Caves along the Bourbonnais Creek and ravine.
